We’re Hiring – Two Exciting Roles at Basketball Wales!

Basketball Wales is delighted to announce the creation of two exciting new roles that will support the development and growth of basketball across the country. These positions, made possible through funding from our partners at Sport Wales, will play a crucial role in delivering on our new strategic aims and long-term vision for the sport.

  1. Participations and Inclusion Officer – PIO (North Wales Region)
  2. Schools and Competitions Officer (National)

The PIO role will focus on increasing participation and widening access to basketball across North Wales, particularly among underrepresented groups. The successful candidate will work closely with the North Wales Basketball Association, clubs, communities, and local partners to deliver inclusive opportunities, ensuring that basketball is accessible to everyone—regardless of background, ability, or geography. The formation of new clubs and additional opportunities for people from all communities across North Wales to play basketball will be a key outcome of this exciting new role

The Schools and Competitions officer role will lead the expansion, coordination and development of school and college basketball across Wales. The successful candidate will support the creation of sustainable competition structures, improve engagement with the education sector, and help develop a clear pathway from grassroots to elite-level competition. The role will also focus on expansion into primary schools across Wales introducing festivals, competitions and training of teachers.

These new appointments directly support the goals of Basketball Wales’ recently launched strategy, which focuses on growth, accessibility, and impact. Our Vision is for basketball will become widely recognised as the most socially inclusive and diverse sport in Wales. We believe in its power to unite communities and change lives.
