Wales Senior 3X3 Squads Head to Belfast for International Tournament
Basketball Wales’ senior men’s and women’s 3X3 teams have traveled to Belfast, Northern Ireland, this weekend to compete in a high-level international 3X3 tournament.
The trip is part of a broader performance pathway, not only preparing the teams for this tournament but also contributing to long-term development ahead of the Commonwealth Games 2026.
The squads selected reflect a mix of domestic and international experience, with players representing top university and club programmes in the UK and abroad.

Purpose of the Trip
This tournament offers a key competitive environment to test combinations, sharpen tactics, and expose players to international 3X3 standards. It’s also part of the selection and performance tracking process for upcoming major events, including the 2026 Commonwealth Games and FIBA 3X3 circuits.
Our Goal is to build the 3×3 format of the game across our senior and junior programmes, targeting tournaments not just in the UK but also across Europe.
