Wales men and women head to Gibraltar for a four team tournament
Our senior men and women are heading to Gibraltar this summer to compete in a new four-team international tournament.
As well as hosts Gibraltar, Wales will face Andorra during the three-day round robin event, which runs from 7 to 9 July 2023. The complete line-up will be confirmed very soon.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for our senior programmes and will give our players the challenges they desperately need,” said Basketball Wales Performance Director Phil Gordos.
“A lot of work is going on behind the scenes and I want to praise the coaches and support staff who have helped to make this tournament happen.
“I also want to thank John Gonçalves and Gibraltar Basketball for hosting the event.
“We hope there will be annual opportunities like this for our senior players, targeting the summer months so we can attract our best players to the programme.”
Wales squads, the final line up and tournament schedule will be announced by the end of June.

We don’t receive any funding for our national teams, the cost of attending tournaments is covered by players and through fundraising.
We’re looking for sponsors to support both teams going to Gibraltar.
