Swansea’ Summer of Hoops: The 3×3 Basketball Wales Tour Heats Up Victoria Park

The summer heat wasn’t the only thing rising in Swansea this past Sunday as Victoria Park played host to the 3×3 Basketball Wales Summer Tour captivated fans with fast-paced, high octane matches.
The event featured matches across Under 12s, Under 14s, Under 16s and Senior categories, with players showing their skills, teamwork and dedication in this exhilarating format of the game.
Gavin Williams, Chief Operating Officer of Basketball Wales, reflected on the success of the event:
“It’s been another great 3×3 event here in Swansea. Victoria Park is another fantastic example of how Welsh Government and Sport Wales Capital Grant investment is making a real impact—with a brand-new tarmac surface and four Mega Slam hoops transforming the space.
It’s been brilliant to see so many teams competing in the Swansea sunshine, but what’s been particularly inspiring is the number of U12 players, both boys and girls, showcasing their skills and passion for the sport. The future of Welsh basketball is bright.”

UNDER 12 FINALS
Storm Chasers (GBR)-6
The Storm edged out 3 Men & A Lil’ Lady in a hard-fought low scoring 6-5 victory.
UNDER 14 FINALS
Leballers (GBR)–14
Fire (GBR)-12
The Leballers claimed the title, winning a close game 14-12 against Fire.
UNDER 16 FINALS
Combo Crew (GBR)-21
XEB (GBR)-04
The Combo crew dominated the game to claim a one-sided victory.
UNDER 18 FINALS

SENIOR FINAL
Spoons (GBR)-11
VLP Hoops (GBR)-10
The day concluded with a nail-biting Senior Final which saw the Spoons claim the crown against VLP Hoops.
Swansea was the second stop in this nationwide 3×3 Summer Tour organized by Basketball Wales with a vision to increase participation, accessibility, and create a nurturing platform for local talent.
The final round of the summer tour now moves to the Welsh Capital, Cardiff for one final time in what has been an enthralling tour. That event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 23rd August 2025 at the Sport Wales National centre. Spaces are limited so sign up your team today using this link –
