SUMMER HOOPS ENDS: CARDIFF CAPS OFF THE EXCITING 3X3 SUMMER TOUR 2025

The capital came alive for one final time this summer to cap off an exciting and spectacular display of 3×3 Basketball across Wales. Cardiff’s Sports Wales National Center hosted a day of electrifying and breathtaking basketball action across five different age categories for players to showcase their talent.

The event held matches across categories including Under 12, Under 14s, Under 16s, Under 18s and Senior ages.

Gavin Williams, Chief Operating Officer of Basketball Wales, reflected on the event’s success:

“Today’s event in Cardiff has been a huge success, marking our biggest tournament of the summer with over 40 teams competing across five age categories. We witnessed some fantastic 3×3 basketball, with all the finals decided by just three points or less.A massive thank you to everyone who played a part in making our summer tour events such a success — from referees, table officials, and volunteers, to our outstanding event coordinators: Beth Jones, Sara Jörgensen, Emily Gilroy, and Rosie Daniel.

UNDER 12 FINALS

Vipers (GBR)-13

3 Men & A Lil’ Lady (GBR)-11

The Vipers held their nerves to claim a hard-fought win.

UNDER 14 FINALS

FOSS Elite (GBR)- 10

Le Ballers (GBR)- 09

FOSS showed nerves of steel to keep the Ballers at bay in a close game.

UNDER 16 FINALS

Valley Oops (GBR)- 13

Hoopers in Christ (GBR)- 12

The Oops snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, with remarkable come from behind victory against the dominant Hoopers

UNDER 18 FINALS

Swansea Elite (GBR)- 11

20 Nuggets (GBR)- 08

The Elite stamped their authority with a decisive win over the Nuggets.

SENIOR FINAL

Spirit Led (GBR)- 16

Cobras (GBR)- 15

The day concluded with a nail-biting Senior Final which saw the Spirits claim the crown against the resilient Cobras.
