Cardiff Met Archers Win the 2026 BWNL Women’s League
At Bangor University, the Cardiff Met Archers secured a hard-fought 70–65 victory over Ynys Môn in a closely contested encounter.
The game remained competitive throughout, with six lead changes and five ties highlighting how evenly matched the two sides were. Ynys Môn found success from beyond the arc, converting seven three-pointers, while the Archers relied on balanced scoring and control in key moments to edge the result.
Ynys Môn made a strong start to the game, opening with an 8–0 run to put early pressure on the Archers. However, Cardiff Met responded well, settling into the contest through Emme Eisenman, who scored six points in the opening period. Sara Jorgensen led the way for Ynys Môn early on with five points.
By halftime, the momentum had shifted in favour of the Archers, who took a 39–35 lead into the break. Jordan Grant was influential during this spell, contributing 11 points to help her side move in front.
The third quarter saw both teams exchange baskets, with neither able to build a significant advantage. Jorgensen and Eisenman continued to play key roles for their respective teams, keeping the game finely balanced heading into the final period.
In the closing quarter, Ynys Môn continued to apply pressure, but the Archers showed composure down the stretch to maintain their lead and secure the win.
Eisenman delivered a standout performance, recording a double-double of 24 points and 14 rebounds, while Grant also impressed with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Jorgensen led Ynys Môn with a strong all-round display, finishing with a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds.
The 70–65 result reflected a well-contested game, with the Archers doing enough in key moments to come away with the victory.
