Join the Board of Basketball Wales as an Elected Director
Basketball Wales is seeking two new Elected Board Directors to help shape the future of the sport across the country. This is an exciting opportunity to play an influential role in the development of basketball in Wales from grassroots participation through to performance level.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for people who are passionate about basketball and who bring knowledge or experience of the sport at any level, whether through playing, coaching, officiating, club management, or volunteering.
You don’t need prior board experience to apply. We value people who understand basketball in Wales, as well as areas for growth and opportunities within our community. An understanding of governance is helpful but can come from a range of experiences, such as involvement in a PTA, community group, grassroots club, or volunteering in another capacity.
We encourage applications from underrepresented groups, particularly women, people with disabilities, and people from ethnically diverse communities. We want our board to reflect the diverse community we serve.

What happens next
All applications will be considered following the closing date on 24th July 2026. Shortlisted candidates will then be put forward to the member clubs for voting. Successful candidates will join the Board for a term of up to four years.
