Level 2 Coaching
Level 2 Coaching Course – October 2025
SVTS Basketball is delivering the Basketball England L2 Coach Course for candidates in Wales.
The Level 2 Coaching Course is a fully online course, delivered through a programme of interactive activities and workshops. L2 Coach Course includes:
- 3 x 2hr Mandatory Virtual Sessions
- Tasks on SVTS Online Learning Platform
- Online Exam
- Practical Assessment via video.
The Virtual Sessions cover; The coaching process, principles of effective coaching delivery, moments of the game – attack and defence, evaluation of coaching performance, session plans & risk assessment.
Virtual sessions will be held at 1-3pm on:
- Sun 5th October 2025
- Sun 12th October
- Sun 19th October
The video assessment has been costed into the course price. This has allowed us to offer the course at a substantially reduced price therefore making the course more accessible to grassroots clubs and individuals.
Please note: Due to the low cost of the course we do not offer face to face practical assessments, this course is a fully online course.
The L2 Basketball Coach Course is the standard level of coaching qualification for all Basketball Coaches. On successful completion of the Level 2 Basketball Coach Course candidates will be fully qualified Basketball Coaches. The course provides a general overview of all aspects of basketball and an introduction to sports coaching. The L2 Course provides learners with the confidence to deliver safe, fun and inclusive basketball sessions. Learners can expect to cover the following topics:
- The Roles & Responsibilities of the Coach
- Planning & Delivering Training Sessions – Plan, Do & Review.
- Individual Fundamentals
- Team Fundamentals
- Developing Team Play
- Sports Science
Candidates need to be aged 18 years or older to do the L2 Coach Course.
