Basketball in Schools Across Wales
Basketball is a popular and growing sport in both primary and secondary schools across the country. It provides students with a fantastic opportunity to experience the game, develop new skills, and enjoy the benefits of team sports.
Demand for Basketball in Schools
According to the 2022 Sport Wales School Sport Survey, basketball continues to capture the interest of young people in Wales. The survey highlights that approximately 40,000 pupils are eager to either start playing basketball or increase their participation, reflecting a significant unmet demand for the sport in schools.
School Competitions
Basketball Wales organizes annual competitions for:
- Primary Schools: Year 6
- Secondary Schools: Years 7 to 13
These events are a fantastic way for schools to promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition.
