Cymru U17 Boys and Girls Selected for Home Nations Invitational Tournament
Basketball Wales is proud to announce the Wales U17 Boys and Girls squads selected to represent their country at the 2026 Home Nations Invitational Tournament, taking place this weekend at Playsport, East Kilbride, Scotland.
The tournament will bring together some of the most talented young players from across the home nations, with Wales competing against England, Ireland and Scotland in a series of international fixtures throughout the weekend.
Representing Wales is a tremendous achievement and reflects the hard work, dedication and commitment shown by all athletes throughout the season. The Home Nations Invitational provides an important opportunity for players to gain valuable international experience while proudly wearing the red of Wales on the national stage.

Ryan Chambers, Basketball Wales Head of Performance and Coaching Pathways, said:
“Congratulations to all the players who have been selected for this tournament. It is a great honour and privilege to be chosen to represent your country in elite sport.
Selecting just 12 players from our wider Academy squad is always an incredibly difficult decision for the coaching staff and performance team. The standard and commitment shown throughout the programme this season has been outstanding.
I would also like to thank those players who have not made the final roster for their dedication, hard work and commitment to the Academy programme this year. Their contribution has been invaluable, and we encourage them to continue their development and remain ready for future opportunities to represent Wales.”
The tournament will provide a challenging and exciting environment for both squads as they test themselves against strong opposition from across the United Kingdom and Ireland. These international contests are a key part of the player development pathway and an important step in preparing athletes for future national team opportunities.
