Wales Senior Men Set for Gibraltar Showdown

Basketball Wales is proud to announce that the Wales Senior Men’s National Team will travel to Gibraltar for a three-day international series from 27–29 June 2025, where they will face the hosts in a friendly tournament at the Tercentenary Sports Hall. Entry to the games is free, and all fans are welcome to attend and support the teams in action.
The Welsh squad will depart for Gibraltar on 25 June, allowing a full day of preparation before taking to the court across three fixtures. The group will return home on 30 June following the final game.
This tournament marks another significant milestone for the Senior Men’s programme, offering players the chance to compete at international level while continuing to build momentum for the national side.
“Competing against Gibraltar is a fantastic opportunity for our Senior Men’s programme to showcase the passion and pride that defines Welsh Basketball,” said Danny Williams, Performance Programme Manager at Basketball Wales.
“For those selected, it’s not only a chance to represent their country at the highest level but also to lead by example, inspiring the young athletes coming through our junior performance programme. We wish the team the very best as they take to the court and fly the flag for Wales.”
Head Coach James Bamfield added:
“I would like to thank the Gibraltar federation for once again extending an opportunity for our team to visit. We had a great tour two years ago and the squad are excited for the opportunity to compete and represent Welsh basketball.”
