U14 Girls’ camps Announced
Basketball Wales is pleased to announce the dates for its U14 Girls’ camps for the 2026–27 season.
The camps offer young players the opportunity to enjoy basketball, develop their skills, build confidence and take the next step on the Basketball Wales pathway.
In support of our schools outreach programme, the sessions are open to girls in school Years 5–8.
Everyone is welcome
The Girls’ camps are open to players of all abilities, from complete beginners to those with some previous experience.
You do not need to be a member of a basketball club to attend. Whether you want to try basketball for the first time or have enjoyed playing at school and would like to develop your skills, you will be very welcome.
Learn from female coaches and professional players
Each girls camp will be led by female coaches from Basketball Wales and Cardiff Met Archers.
Participants will also be joined during the sessions by professional players from the Cardiff Met Archers Super League Basketball women’s team. This is an exciting opportunity for the girls to learn from experienced players and be inspired by some of Wales’s leading female basketball role models.
Stef Collins, Head Coach of Cardiff Met Archers, said:
“We are really proud to use our platform to bring basketball into schools and communities across Wales, giving girls the chance to play and meet positive female role models.
“The next step is about creating more opportunities for girls to stay involved in basketball through schools, clubs, camps and hubs. We want every girl who gets involved to feel that basketball is for her and that she can go as far as she wants in the sport.”
Watch live basketball for free
After each camp, all participating players and their parents or guardians will be invited to stay and watch the scheduled live game free of charge.
On the women’s fixture dates, families can see Cardiff Met Archers Wales’s only professional women’s basketball team in action against some of the leading teams in British basketball.
