Basketball Wales Supports Inclusive DOSportUK x SOGB Basketball Series at Cardiff Met
On Sunday 9th March, Basketball Wales was proud to support the inclusive DOSportUK x Special Olympics GB Basketball Series, hosted at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
The event featured two exciting divisions:
- Division A – An international tri-series competition between Wales, England, and Ireland.
- Division B – A regional event including teams from London, East Midlands, Manchester, and Powys.
This collaborative event is a testament to Basketball Wales’ commitment to inclusion, sportsmanship, and the transformative power of sport. Aligned with our newly published inclusion strategy, we continue working to create accessible opportunities for individuals with learning disabilities and autism to participate, compete, and thrive in a welcoming basketball environment.
Division A – International Tri-Series Results
- Game 1: Wales 44 – 41 Ireland (Overtime)
- Game 2: Ireland 40 – 45 England
- Game 3: England 38 – 39 Wales
- Final: Wales 29 – 43 England
Congratulations to Wales, who went unbeaten during the pool stage and delivered some fantastic performances before falling short in a hard-fought final against a talented England side.
