Basketball Wales seeks Director of Equality Diversity and Inclusion
Basketball Wales is looking to appoint a new Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Board Director to help shape the future of basketball in Wales by championing inclusivity and ensuring that the sport is accessible to everyone.
This vacancy arises as our current EDI co-directors – Sally-Anne Owen and Michelle Alexis – step down from their shared role. Basketball Wales would like to thank both their significant contribution in driving our work forward during a pivotal period in the development of the governing body.
Basketball Wales is responsible for the governance of one of Wales’ most popular and in-demand sports. Basketball attracts participants across our diverse communities and the sport has a unique ability to bring people together. We are committed to fostering a diverse, welcoming, and inclusive environment for players, coaches, officials, and fans and are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking person with a passion for equality, diversity and inclusion to join our board for an initial term of 4 years, with the option to extend to a second term.
As the sport continues to grow, this is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of inclusive change in Welsh basketball. As part of the Board, you will shape policies, create real impact, and help ensure basketball is a sport for everyone—regardless of background, ability, or identity.
