Basketball Wales Players Nominated for Great Britain Talent Pathway Opportunities
Basketball Wales would like to congratulate the following players who have been nominated through the Basketball Wales Academy Programme to attend upcoming Great Britain Basketball pathway activity camps this weekend.
Selection and nomination to these camps is recognition of the hard work, commitment and performances that the players have demonstrated throughout the season within the Basketball Wales National Team Academy pathway programmes.
The players nominated are:

U16 Men
- Max Marchant
- Mathew Hughes
U16 Women
- Chloe Hall
- Ava O’Sullivan
- Maiz Ahmed
- Hope Newman
The Basketball Wales performance pathway continues to go from strength to strength, with increasing numbers of Welsh athletes being recognised at GB level through their performances within the national programme.
Basketball Wales Head of Performance, Ryan Chambers, praised the athletes for their efforts and dedication:
“These nominations are fully deserved and reflect the commitment the players have shown throughout the year. To have athletes from across multiple age groups recognised within the GB pathway is extremely positive for Welsh basketball and highlights the continued development of our academy and performance environments.”
The GB pathway camps provide talented young athletes with the opportunity to compete and train within a high-performance environment alongside some of the top young players from England and Scotland.
Basketball Wales would like to congratulate all of the nominated athletes, their families, coaches and clubs for their continued hard work and support.
We wish all players the very best as they take the next step in their basketball journeys and proudly represent Wales within the GB pathway structure.
