Basketball Wales Announces Junior Academy Trials for 2026/27

Basketball Wales is pleased to announce that nominations for the National Academy 2026–27 trials are now open.

Eligible players interested in joining the Basketball Wales National Academy for the 2026–27 season are invited to submit a self-nomination for consideration.

Eligible age groups

Players in the following FIBA age groups are eligible:

• U14: Born in 2013
• U15: Born in 2012
• U17: Born in 2010 or 2011

Players who are not currently part of the Basketball Wales National Academy should submit a self-nomination if they wish to be considered for the 2026–27 programme.

Basketball Wales will review all player nominations submitted through the online form. Invitations will then be sent to selected players to attend the National Academy Trial in Cardiff on Sunday 6 September 2026.

Please note that submitting a nomination does not guarantee an invitation. Only players who have received an official invitation from Basketball Wales will be permitted to participate in the trial.

Further information about the venue, schedule and player requirements will be shared directly with invited players.
