Combine Academy is a top international boarding school and professional sports performance Centre located in Lincolnton, North Carolina, just outside Charlotte.
Combine Academy offers an all-inclusive and comprehensive solution for high school and post high school athletes to obtain a prestigious academic education while focusing on taking their sports skills to the highest level. Combine offers 10-month programs for athletes competing in basketball, soccer, baseball, and golf. In addition, Combine Academy offers summer and off-season training programs for athletes to learn from and work alongside the best in the business.
Founded in 2012 by NBA veteran Trevor Booker and Clemson University alum Jonah Baize, Combine Academy has been able to propel over 300 student-athletes to college level on athletic and academic scholarships. Programs at Combine Academy are designed to:
- Provide elite skill development and sports performance training
- Offer athletes exposure to college and university coaches and scouts
- Prepare student-athletes academically with a NCAA-approved curriculum
What does this mean for Basketball Wales?
Firstly, Combine Academy will be the main shirt sponsors for our U14, U16 and U18 teams.
Also, they will be awarding two full scholarships to Basketball Wales U18 players in the U16 and U18 boys program to attend the Combine Academy Elite AAU Summer Program in 2021.
And finally, they will be awarding a partial scholarship to a Basketball Wales U18 player in the U16 or U18 program to attend the Combine Academy High School Program during the 2021/22 academic year.
For the girls programme, Combine Academy and Basketball Wales will also be partnering to develop team training, exposure opportunities, and competitive tournaments in North Carolina for Basketball Wales elite U16 and U18 girls.
In addition, Combine Academy will be running a basketball skills camp in Wales for players ages 6 to 16 years during 2021.
