Basketball Wales Unveils National Academy Schedule for 2024/25 Season

Basketball Wales is pleased to announce the National Academy schedule for the 2024/25 season, setting the stage for a year of focused development and opportunities for young basketball players nationwide. 
The majority of the Academy sessions will take place at Archers Arena, located at Cardiff Metropolitan University’s Cyncoed campus. Scheduled on weekends and during school holidays, these sessions are designed to offer young athletes regular, structured opportunities to improve their skills. 
Performance Director Phil Gordos highlighted the benefits of the new schedule. “Having a clear calendar helps us plan more effectively and avoid clashes with club fixtures,” Gordos explained. “This is a solid step forward in addressing our scheduling challenges.” 
Gordos also acknowledged the support from Cardiff Met. “I’d like to thank Cardiff Met for making the Archers Arena available and helping us ensure our players and coaches have access to high-quality facilities,” he said.
While Archers Arena will be the main venue, Basketball Wales is finalising additional locations for particular dates as set out below, with announcements expected soon. Additionally, session dates for the Development squads in both North and South Wales will be published soon, offering further opportunities for young athletes.
