Basketball Wales Schools Competition
The Basketball Wales Schools Competition provides exciting opportunities for young players across Wales to represent their schools and compete against the best teams in the country. The competition begins with the Year 7 & 8 category, which forms part of the Junior NBA programme, giving players the chance to experience basketball through an internationally recognised format while developing their skills, teamwork, and love for the game.
As players progress, competitions are available in the Year 9 & 10 Boys and Girls categories, followed by the Year 11–13 Boys and Girls categories. These age groups offer a competitive pathway for student-athletes to showcase their talent, gain valuable match experience, and compete for regional and national honours while promoting participation, sportsmanship, and excellence in basketball throughout Welsh schools.

Area Tournaments
Area Tournaments to take place between October and January. If you have your timetable for next academic year in place and would like to host an Area Tournament, then please email selaw.llabteksab@sloohcs with dates so we can book them in the diary ready.
National Finals
National Finals will take place at Canolfan Brailsford, Bangor University on Monday 8th March 2027 from 9:00am to 5:00pm
Jr NBA Competition
The Draft will take place on Thursday 19 November 2026.
Conference competitions will be held between January and April 2027, with dates to be confirmed.
The finals Week is scheduled as follows:
🏀 8th June 2027– Boys Finals
🏀 9 June 2027 – Girls Finals
🏀 10 June 2027 – Wheelchair Finals
🏀 11 June 2027 – ALN Finals
Conference competitions will take place in the new year, between January and April.
