Organisations that can help and support you

Samaritans: Samaritans is available round the clock, every single day of the year. You can talk to them any time you like in your own way and off the record, about whatever’s getting to you. The NSPCC:  The NSPCC work to prevent abuse, help rebuild children’s lives and support families. If you would like support or tips to help keep your children safe then visit their website. You can find information about helping your children at home and when they are away from home, children’s mental health, online safety, how to report abuse and neglect, along with a range of other issues. The NSPCC also run Childline and the CPSU which you can find out more about below.

Childline: When you call Childline on 0800 1111 you’ll get through to a counsellor, they’re there to listen and support you with anything you’d like to talk about. Or you can have a 1-2-1 counsellor chat online.

The Child Protection in Sport Unit: The Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) is part of the NSPCC and is funded by Sport EnglandSport Northern IrelandSport Wales and UK Sport. Their aim is to help improve safeguarding and child protection practices within sport organisations, to ensure all children and young people are safe while participating in sport. The Anne Craft Trust: The Anne Craft Trust are a national charity that exist to minimise the risk of abuse of disabled children and adults at risk. You can call the Anne Craft Trust if you are worried, or need advice about safeguarding on 0115 951 5400

Victim Support: Victim Support provides free, confidential advice and practical help to anyone affected by any crime, no matter how long ago it took place, or whether it was reported to the police or not. Call free on VS Support line 0808 168 9111. Call Mon-Fri 8pm – 8am. Weekends 24 hour service

The Silver Line: The Silver Line Helpline is the only national, free and confidential helpline for lonely and isolated older people; offering information, advice and friendship. Call 0800 470 8090
